Elite Personal Training for High-Performance Athletes in Austin & Houston

Sports Prehab & Injury Prevention | Elite Personal TrainingPARR PT in Austin and Houston, Texas specializes in sports rehabilitation and injury prevention for high-performance athletes and post rehab clients. Our therapists have years of experience in treating some the most elite competitors in the world. Each of the athletes varied in skill set from professional and Olympic athletes, to junior high school athletes.

PARR PT’s unique “3-systems” approach involves treating multiple body systems at once to maximize the speed of recovery. The combination of these systems enhances body awareness, improves reaction time, and optimizes strength and performance.

In addition, using our Myokinesthetic and manual therapy treatments, we are able to maximize progress in a wide range of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. These include post muscle strains, osteoarthritis, ligament injuries, and joint replacements. These conditions can significantly impact an individual’s ability to engage in traditional strength training exercises and require a specialized approach to avoid reinjury.

We also understand the unique challenges individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and POTS face when it comes to strength training. Individuals with EDS often experience joint instability, chronic pain, and increased risk of injury during physical activities, including strength training. In addition, those with POTS experience low exercise tolerance and endurance limiting ability to initiate strength training.

Exercise Physiology for Elite Athletes | Specialized PT for Optimal Performance in Competitive & Recreational SportsKey Components of Our Strength Training Programs:

  1. Assessment and Evaluation: Before starting any strength training program, we conduct a SFMA comprehensive assessment to identify areas of stability, mobility, and any functional strength. This assessment guides the development of a personalized exercise plan that addresses the individual’s unique needs and concerns.
  2. Joint Stabilization and Mobility: For individuals with EDS and or sports injuries, joint stabilization and mobility are crucial components of strength training. If an individual does not have at least 70% of normal range of motion, it can significantly reduce strength gains in that specific region.  Our programs include exercises designed to improve joint stability, proprioception, and range of motion while minimizing the risk of injury.
  3. Progressive Resistance Training: We utilize a progressive approach to resistance training, gradually increasing the intensity, volume, and complexity of exercises as the individual’s strength and tolerance improve. This gradual progression helps regulate autonomic function as well as building strength safely while minimizing the risk of injuries.
  4. Functional Movement Patterns: Our strength training programs focus on functional movement patterns that translate directly to sport specific activities and normal daily living activities. By incorporating exercises that mimic real-life movements, we help our clients improve their overall functional capacity and quality of life.
  5. Education and Empowerment: We believe in empowering our clients with the knowledge and skills they need to manage their condition independently. Throughout the strength training process, we provide education on proper technique, injury prevention strategies, and self-care practices to support long-term success and sustainability.

Sports Rehab Testimonial

“Jonathan and his team are exceptional at understanding the human body, how it moves, and how they can find ways to get our bodies moving optimally again. As a personal trainer myself, I’ve sent clients to see him and I go PARR PT to make sure my movement patterns, posture, and flexibility are as optimal as they can be for 46 years old. I highly Recommend giving Jonathan and his team a call and setting up a consultation / assessment. Whether you’re an athlete with some nagging injuries or a layperson who wants to make sure you’re as healthy and pain free as possible, PARR PT is a great idea. They will take great care of you and give you tools and support to help you feel better and know how to get healthier long term.”
